Clarifiation regarding PEC_GPIO connector in parallella Mirc

I am planning to use parallella for a low cost Instrument
design,I need atleast 24 GPIOs and HDMI.
I was considering to use the microserver as it fits into my cost
limitations.
In the microserver there is no PEC_GPIO connector,But the other models
like Desktop and Embedded are expensive and they will fail my model of low
cost instrumentation.
So,i gone through the schamitcs of the microserver boards,i can see that
there are PEC_GPIO and HDMI soldered connections out but there is no connector?
So,can i buy SAMTEC BSH-030-01-F-D-A and HDMI connector seperately and place it at that
location?
will the GPIO and HDMI work? or in case of microserver there is no connections from
Zynq to the bottom side of the board.
please clarify
