Linux Header file install

Dear all,

I am porting some software to parallella board, and I need the linux header to recompile the source code.
I install the ubuntu on parallella using Ubuntu 14.04 Parallella (Zynq7020) headless image on the quick start guide.
But I cannot find any instruction how this image compile, and where to get the source code

Usually, apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r) will get what I want on an X86, but it seem parallella do not work like that.
Could anyone help?

Strictly speaking, you need the kernel headers for the currently running kernel, which is specific to the Parallella. So the right choice would be to build your own kernel (and headers) from the git sources. However, it should be enough if you take the kernel sources (same version as the running kernel), apply the default Parallella configuration and generate the headers from that. You can probably even get away with the generic ARM headers.

Do you want to compile a kernel module? Because generally speaking, userspace applications (including C libraries) should not depend on kernel headers.

Well, if your software needs to be built against the kernel headers, then there is little you can do. However, the Parallella uses a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor (the Xilinx Zynq), which does not support hardware virtualization. So there is no KVM support on the Parallella, and by disabling KVM support in your software, you might get around the requirement.
