Ethernet dropping out.

Postby xilman » Wed Feb 11, 2015 9:11 am

Twice now in the last couple of weeks one of the four cluster members has lost its ethernet for no readily apparent reason. The OS and applications continue to run and nothing appears in any log file yet found. The blinkenlight next to the socket contiues to blink as normal.

The systems are on a common power supply, the case renders the reset button inaccessible and the cluster rus headless so it's tricky to see what's going on, especially if the USB hasn't initialised properly as it does roughly half the time. Apart from the well-known and long-standing USB issue everything has been fine.

Anyone else seen this one? Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Paul,

Is it the same board each time?
If same, connect up a serial UART to that board 'just in case' so that you can have a poke/peek around when it happens.

Might just be the CAT6 cable.
