Zynq 7020 loaded, Epiphany doesnt work and often hang out

Postby xuewang » Fri Feb 24, 2017 8:38 am

Hello dear community. In December I ordered Parallella board (embedded with Zynq 7020) that I wanted for a long time to buy, but they were not available. When I decided to start working with him, But I was very disappointed, because I can't run any one apps example on Epiphany.
I collected all logs, dmesg. I tried to boot from different sd cards, different os(MAC AND WINDOWS). And I use Image with supporting HDMi and without. And I aslo change the power with 1-2 position and 2-3 position.I also tried the 2016.3.1 img, but they did not work.
I will be very glad if you advise me what can be done. I'd really like to get my parallella worked.
Thank you.

First,
I tested the epiphany by run the test.sh in /tests/epiphany-sdk/
yes it can not run at all, so I terminate it by ctrl+c. But there was a time but very little time that the first example can be tested ok and Test pass.

Then I run the most simple example-hello-world in epiphany-examples it run the same report as above, in most time, It can run nothing and it would hang out, and I can not do anything, it reported segment fault.

So I guess that maybe there is something wrong with the cache or sdram, what can I do For the next test?

xuewang,

Thank you for testing those things out.
Sorry to hear that your board is still not working.
It does look like you may have a defective board. Please return (RMA) it to the place of purchase so that we can have it looked at. We can then ship you a new board or offer a refund.

dear community,
I have tested the tests which in /home/parallella/tests/epiphany-example/test,sh, but they are always hang out.And now I want to check from you that what something else should I do before the test such like apt-get install something to support the epiphany.
And I also have a porcupine Breakout Board which has gpios with the parallella board. So maybe the problem is in here?Do you have some advice?

I also used the dmesg order and I found some problem message in the report as following:
[ 0.000000] L2C: platform modifies aux control register: 0x72360000 -> 0x7276 0000

Are those normal? If not please give me some advice, please.
