Efforts and cost of peripheral cards

How good is the Parallella board for peripheral intensive application, like signal processing or motor control applications where one needs to interface with many GPIO, XADC peripherals. Have anyone tried to evaluate Parallella compared with Zedboard or Xilinx ZC702 boards.
It should be possible to utilize the FMC daughter cards from other vendors which are supported on Zedboard/ZC702 boards.

Just wondering if any experts here can put some light on above issues. May be these issues are discussed in the forum, if someone can provide links to them....

Can someone confirm on ZYNQ pins dedicated for ADC inputs. I see that someone has already commented XADC inputs are used in other places due to which the parallella board can not be used for acquisition of external analog signals.
