To implement your message-passing architecture, we can add a 64-bit offset value header field to IPv6 bus packet, then we can access all the memory/IO space of devices all over the world!!

Electronics of 2020 will be very simple. Soldering is no more required, all you have to do is to connect CPU/GPU/DSP/Memory modules to optical network switch with optical fiber cables.

If you are not satisfied with performance of the system, just connect another Epiphany-VII modules, or call your friend, ask him to share his spare Epiphany modules through internet.

I really like where you are going with this.. Sometimes, the insanity within our legacy thinking can be mind boggling. Not sure if you have seen this old story.(hopefully we won't still have standard RJ45 connectors and IPv4 addressing in 3020)

We are indeed stuck in a legacy rut within computing architecture, and we're not going to come out of it if we stay within our comfort zones. Some could justify staying on the old paths pragmatically as "getting things done", but it's only reasonable as a stop-gap. Someone's got to beat back the thicket in different directions, or else we'd be perpetually walking in the ruts of Roman chariots and limited by the widths of horses' behinds.
