Parallella Community

I am looking for a way to actually hear my Parallella and not just see it activity on a screen. I have my Parallella plugged into a Samsung monitor (similar to the ones shown in many Parallella videos). The HDMI is plugged into the monitor, but the monitor has no speakers.

I get silence.

So how do I plug in some speakers now with the HDMI plugged already taken?

The HDMI connector contains both audio and video. These can be split using a "HDMI Audio Splitter".

Okay, there are so many HDMI splitters to choose from. I guess that it will need to be powered, but is that all? Could someone recommend a inexpensive HDMI splitter
that is powered.
