So can anyone confirm if this power supply would be safe to use?
http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/e ... ND/3094912Based on the Voltage, Amperage and the plug it looks like it should work. Is this true or am I better off getting the accessory kit?

AlphaCluster,
The voltage and amperage are correct, but the polarization needs to be positive center, not negative.

Ok well how about attempt number 2?
http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/e ... ND/2506963Will this one work or will the connector be too short? This one is only 9.5mm the other was 11mm I noticed.

AlphaCluster,
That adapter should work, but here is a link to the actual adapter that was included in my accessory bundle. Not only is it cheaper, but it is rated for 3A. You may even be able to find it cheaper, if you google the manufacturer and manufactuer number listed, in the link below.

Would three amp be better? I was only looking at 2amp adapters cause that was called out in the quick start guide.

3 amp would just give you more budget for peripheral and daughter card expansion.

I tis always beneficial to use a PSU that has greater capacity than needed.
It helps with future expansion as Andrew hinted at, and also doesn't stress the PSU.
Kind Regards,
Julian.

Currently we are shipping most of accessory kits with the supplies mentioned above. Clusters will ship with this supply
http://www.digikey.com/product-search/e ... maction=on which is 2.5A.
Anything below 2A is dangerous, but higher rating will not do any harm

I got one of these when I bought a BeagleBone Black from Adafruit; it appears to fit and power my Parallellas just fine:
