SDR# and FunCube Pro+

Postby TrikingSheep » Wed Feb 05, 2014 12:52 pm

Hi All,

I was wondering if it was possible to port over SDR# and then connect the FunCube Pro+ dongle.

I'll did further to see if it's possible.

One way to get SDR Rx on the Parallella.

Kind Regards,

Julian.

Hi Julian,

Looks as though it's possible to run SDR# on Linux via Wine or Mono. However, while the GUI is open source you are forbidden from modifying or redistributing the DSP DLL. And if the signal processing part cannot be modified to make use of the Epiphany, it's unlikely to be very interesting on Parallella... :(

If you're interested in amateur radio SDR apps I'd probably suggest looking at porting something such as DttSP, else targeting certain commonly used/compute intensive blocks in GNU Radio.

Cheers,

Andrew

My gqrx/snapshots repository has armhf builds enabled. I haven't used it myself but I think @tnt has tried it. Anyway, even if gqrx is not usable because of the Qt/graphics stuff, the repository includes a rather complete gnuradio ecosystem.
