Fastest way to get data transferred into Parallella

Hi,

What is the fastest way to get data transferred into the Parallella board?
According to specs, the board has a USB 2.0 port and a Gigabit Ethernet port. Does the board have other ways to get data transferred?
Off the top of my head, a USB 2.0 port usually deliver ~30 MB/s and Gigabit Ethernet about ~120 MB/s. Using the network to get data transferred looks like the best option, but I'm wondering if there are other aspects to be evaluated. For example, network latency, TCP/UDP/IP overheads, drivers/protocol costs of transferring data, costs of copying data from Kernel Land to User Land, ... ?
Did anybody do these benchmarks/evaluations?

Do you want to get data into the ARM board SDRAM or into the epiphany local scratchpad? If the latter, there's also e-link cables to consider.
