Is the FPGA Verilog available for adding custom functionality? Did the designers use Verilog or VHDL?
Is this a planned function or would I have to modify the original Verilog to do this?
If accessible, how many LUTs are available for our use?
I'm interested in things like adding a butterfly address generator for FFT bit and digit reverse. Also could add tweak value tables and Cosine lookup tables to speed up FFT algorithms. These addresses could be generated and added to memory accessing addresses controling the addressing of data that gets sent in to the Epiphany chip for the actual calculations. I'm not yet familiar with the system and the epihpany architecture yet as this may not be necessary if that functionality is already possible from the Epiphany cores.
In general fast cosine lookup tables have their uses too. I can think of many other applications that having spare LUTs around could be very useful.
Thank you in advance.
