Using Parallella with prolific usb serial cable

Postby sumitmah » Sat Jul 05, 2014 3:46 am

Hello,

I am new to using minicom, using devices with serial to usb cables. I am able to detect parallella on my mac using prolific usb serial driver with minicom.
Can anyone help me how to configure minicom for parallella? and how to use minicom?

Thanks,
Sumit

Hi,

I've tested my USB UART cable with minicom, looks good. Working fine both Rx Tx pins. But when I connect parallella, I am not seeing any messages on screen.

I've installed Ubuntu 14.04 and kernel with headless mode, fpga flavours with headless mode.

Can some one help me here?

Thanks,
Sumit

you will only see messages during the initial boot process. After the boot starts, the image you are using shuts down the UART to avoid the boot hanging problem.
