Proper ways to shut down the board?

Postby baseballguy » Wed Jul 16, 2014 5:10 pm

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering what the proper way to shutdown the board was? I am currently just typing in "sudo shutdown -h now", waiting 2-3 minutes, and then pulling the plug on the power supply, and turning off the fan as well.

Is this proper procedure or is there anything else I should be doing?

Thanks

As far as I know that's the best way. There was some discussion in the thread shutdown by software but it amounts to what you are doing.

The important thing is to have the fan running until you unplug the power supply.

It would be nice to have some signal telling us when the shutdown is complete.
