Hello world Error word unexpected (expecting ")")

Hi i am a parallella newbie,
I followed the SDK building as per the wiki https://github.com/adapteva/epiphany-sdk/wiki/Building-the-SDK & http://adapteva.com/docs/epiphany_sdk_ref.pdfand i was able to get e-gcc --version working. I was also able to compile the code. But when i run it connecting the parallella board (16 core) with the linaro sd card in it.

1. i am getting the following error. What am i doing wrong. If you need any dump or information, please let me know. I am running Ubuntu 14-04 on a i686 machine as the host.
./hello_world.elf: 1: ./hello_world.elf: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting ")")
2. I am also not able to bring up the sdk / setup. Some help there is also welcome.

In #1, how are you loading the elf onto the Epiphany chip? Are you loading it from a host program or from e-gdb?
