Enabling CAN on physical pins

Postby RedbackRacing » Fri Nov 25, 2016 2:56 am

Hi all,

We want to enable the CAN rx and tx pins on the parallella board. I have the 'porcupine' breakout board, and CAN enabled in the kernel. I've tested that it can send from the 'cansend' utility form can-utils in LOOPBACK mode, but now want physical pins. I'm a total newcomer to hardware, so all the things I've tried are probably too embarrassing to post on this forum  .

We've also enabled can0 on the zynq-parallella-headless.dts and are using that as our .dtb on startup.

If someone could point me in the right direction it would be great.

As far as I recall we didnt enable can in the first stage boot loader. You will need to reflash the device with a new fabl config to enable can. Make sure you have xilinx progamming cable in case something goes wrong.
