non-quadrilateral address resolution

if you had some epiphany chips in the shape of something like an "E", are the chips clever enough to always find the right chip if you try to access it's memory?
just curious, nothing more.

No - you need a full mesh as they try to transfer over non existing connections.
Only way to handle is by proxying transfers over edge CPUs.
That's also to consider if you interconnect multiple parallella as the host memories are outside the full mesh and only reachable by the according direct connected epiphany.
