What does RESETCORE do?

Actually, it's not entirely clear how RESETCORE should behave. For example, if I write 0 to RESETCORE[0] (to do a core reset) and then don't write a 1, will it just sit in some kind of reset state forever - separate from halt/idle entirely?

The core will enter a reset state when you write a one to the RESETCORE register and will stay in the reset core until you write a zero to that register.

So does the core reset state just amount to "reset registers and wait indefinitely for a zero to be written"?
