Status on Numpy / SciPy support

Postby sohrabt » Mon Nov 03, 2014 2:48 am

I am interested in using the board, but my python code uses numpy/scipy.

It says on http://www.parallella.org/ideas/ that there is an idea about support for numpy/scipy many core acceleration. I am not too clear about the technical details of Python support on the Parallella. I have been programming using Python 3.x and the code is cpu heavy. I want to know if anyone knows the status of numpy/scipy support on parallela. If I buy the board will I be able to use python's multiprocessing library to have multiple cores running numpy/scipy? I am guessing no, but I would like it if someone with a better understanding of things told me so.

Thanks

AFAIK at present there is no Epiphany support in NumPy/SciPy.
