How to use Kinect with Parallella

How to use Kinect with Parallella

Postby shodruk » Fri Jul 11, 2014 5:05 pm

Hi, I wrote a simple Kinect test program that can be run on Parallella.

Demo Video: http://youtu.be/cVTc5PzMpPg

Source Code: https://github.com/parallella/parallell ... inect_test

It uses only one eCore for fullscreen rendering, so we can use other 15 eCores to do something interesting.

How about using the other cores to replicate the movements and have a full dance group? (different costumes, different depths, sideways movement, whooooo!) :)

You've done it again haven't you!!! :geek:
Well done.

Cheers

Thanks terry,

I want to implement a simple image recognition using other eCore.
But I have to learn more about it. :)

+1 and very cool indeed :) Now I want to get a Kinect so I can have a play myself.

Cheers,

Thanks Andrew,
It's rather expensive but worth to buy.

all,
Before anyone runs out and buys a kinect, make sure you buy the right one. Not all of Kinects work with libfreenect. We made that mistake a 18 months ago. :D (at least that was the case back then...)

Yes, you should buy a "Kinect for XBOX360", not a "Kinect for Windows" nor a "Kinect for XBOX One" to use libfreenect1.

has anyone tried to get this running on the parallella? https://github.com/xxorde/librekinect

It seems a more solid/clean solution
