How to modify/turnoff thermal daemon on Parallella

Postby aolofsson » Tue Nov 10, 2015 5:00 pm

In the stock image there is a process running in Linux that shuts down Epiphany if the board gets too hot.
To turn off the daemon edit the following file on your sd card, insert into Parallella, and reboot.

/media/<user>/rootfs/etc/init/parallella-thermald.conf

If thermals are a problem, I would also recommend using the xtemp utility to monitor them:
https://github.com/parallella/parallella-utils

Or the command line script from Ola:
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=930&p=13266&hilit=ztemp#p13618

You can also increase the THERMALD_MAX_TEMP value by uncommenting/modifying line 16 in:
/etc/init/paralllella-thermald.conf
