Login problem

I've interfaced a USB keyboard to my Parallella, and type linaro twice when I get the login prompt, but get returned to the prompt each time. I'm using the ubuntu-lxde-14.03.06-p16g1.img Linux image, have the default user name and password changed?

I've tried two different USB keyboards, without success.

I didn't know that there are verified peripherals:

I've ordered a Logitech KM330 wireless keyboard and mouse. I'll try them on the Parallella with a little Logitech wireless dongle thingy which I bought for use with the BBB.

You can open root terminal by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1. (no login needed)

Thanks. That worked!

I'm not sure what has happened, but when I tried to login I pressed the down arrow, got a login prompt, typed "linaro" and got a white screen with the Parallella logo and Parallella in large letters underneath it. I couldn't get it to do anything else.
