Parallella fails to boot in "headless" configuration

Postby aolofsson » Thu Aug 07, 2014 10:07 pm

If your Parallella board boots OK with the display enabled but fails to boot in headless mode, the problem may be that there is a mismatch between the files being used.

The file "parallella.bit.bin" and "devicetree.dtb" must BOTH be the headless versions for the board to boot correctly.

If you have a serial cable connected, this boot error message will appear as below: (I don't think you will get this message in /var/log/syslog as far as I have been able to tell?).

Code: Select all
zynq_gpio e000a000.gpio: gpio at 0xe000a000 mapped to 0xf0010000
hw-breakpoint: found 5 (+1 reserved) breakpoint and 1 watchpoint registers.
hw-breakpoint: maximum watchpoint size is 4 bytes.
