Console on serial is now disabled by default and while you get boot messages upon start-up, you don't get a login prompt. You can change this by editing the devicetree.

Thanks Andrew- I got it to boot by using headless dtb and the proper 7010 bit.bin - I was able to ssh via ethernet! (I had mistakenly downloaded the 7020 version at first
)
