802.1Q VLAN Tagging woes

Postby dcarrion87 » Sat Apr 18, 2015 8:01 pm

Has anyone else had issues with routing and 802.1Q VLANs on these Parallella boards?

I've tried setting one board up as a router with all the vlan and netfilter options compiled into the kernel.

Unless I set the client MTU to 1490 I just cannot route out the vlan interface connected to my modem without playing with MTU settings. I'm guessing something to do with the extra VLAN info in the packet.

I've got a work around by having the internal traffic untagged, setting tagged interface to mtu 1460 and mangling the outgoing traffic.

Would it have anything to do with this: http://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/52027.html

Note that exact same config works on the Raspberry Pi. No interface errors there. Within minutes I have 100s of RX frame errors on the parallella.
