Just purchased board and booted. But everytime the mouse is move video scrambles all over the place. Mostly settles down when the mouse sits still. Any ideas?

Hi Sam,

We've seen this on one monitor with higher resolution than 1080p (1920x1080).
It's likely that 1080p is the most the system can handle, we certainly don't recommend anything higher than that.
Please provide the exact manufacturer and model of your monitor.

You might be able to improve things by tweaking ShadowFB / SWCursor / HWCursor in
/etc/X11/xorg.conf
https://github.com/parallella/parabuntu/blob/master/overlays/parallella/etc/X11/xorg.conf#L4-L6
Code: Select all
  Option "ShadowFB" "True"
  Option "SWCursor" "True"
  Option "HWCursor" "False"

Sorry for the delayed response. The monitor is an ASUS VW266H. Native resolution is 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz.

I'll try the suggestions and see how they work.

That's probably it. I think the max the system can do, without flickering, is 1920x1080.

You can either try to decrease the screen resolution by:
editing /etc/X11/xorg.conf,
or using the fbset or xrandr commands.
(I haven't tested this myself)

... or use different monitor.
