AndyC: I have gone back and made this much clearer now, including fixing up the images. Thanks again, it really was quite misleading as it was, due to a sudden change in direction and not looking at the images/steps carefully.

Andrew: Sure thing. I gather you mean in their entirety, rather than a link?

You may be aware of the to move to a CLI driven Sandbox to greatly simplify this process (as Andreas puts it, lowering the barrier to entry to zero). This will replace the entire current tutorial for those wanting to use this approach, and will become our recommended approach for those starting out with FPGA.

The current "advanced" version is still of value for those who want to tinker with the tool, see what was involved in doing it for themselves, etc. Also, it is the only method ready at present.

I propose we write up the Sandbox version in the Wiki going forwards once it is developed (within a month, hopefully?). At the end of this page, we provide links for those who wish to know more / tinker with the Xilinx tools. I can put the placeholder page with the links up now, explaining that something newer and easier is on its way.

Does that strike like the right balance?

The alternative is converting what I already have into a Wiki document - I just looked at the code for an existing one (haven't written a Wiki before), and I'll have a fair bit of work with markup to do in order to port it over.

Sounds great! Good point and not worth documenting this on the wiki using the GUI and with screenshots etc. if we can move away from that approach soon and to a much better CLI-driven workflow.
