any BOINC project already converted ?

any BOINC project already converted ?

Anybody already succeded in running BOINC using 2 two cores *and* the epiphany accelerator ? I really would love to see that running, unfortunately international shipping not yet started so no board to develop on my own ...

Support for Boinc detection of non-Nvidia/AMD/Intel OpenCL devices is still ongoing, there have been two changesets in the last two weeks towards Boinc client support for non Nvidia/AMD/Intel OpenCL devices,
and only one changeset for the server side scheduler so far, I expect there be a few more changes before the scheduler can correctly send the right app for the right device.

On the app side, I haven't heard of any apps yet, from (in no particular order) Bikeman (Einstein), Raistmer of Joe (Seti/Lunatics), I don't even know if Raistmer or Joe have their Paralllellas up and running yet.

I think the problem is not just to compile the project. In this case it will use just the CPU cores.
To be able to use the 16 epiphany core it is needed to modify the project code to use the new instruction set.
The only alternative would be to use the OpenCL layer.

A lot of the project apps make use of FFTW in their apps. If we were able to get it to utilize the epiphany then that would speed things up. Andreas did mention in another message thread they were getting an FFT library done.

A number of projects have apps that will run on the ARM processor without too much work. Projects that should work "out of the box" are Asteroids@home and Einstein@home. I've also been running a Seti@home app on both the Pi2 and Parallella's compiled by Claggy.

Since my last post (almost a year ago) there is no progress to report. There are ARM apps available that work however there still isn't anything that I know of that will use the Epiphany.

I'm running Einstein@home on the ARM cores.

The riecoin miner ported by Mike Bell worked and used the Epiphany but it used ypool which has since disappeared.

I had a look at porting the dnet client. Not a simple exercise to get that working on the epiphany. E.g. the OGR worker thread is written in assembler.
