Response from support@adapteva.com!

Postby leon_heller » Sat Mar 15, 2014 4:59 pm

I contacted support@adapteva.com yesterday about my faulty board, but haven't received a reply. Does anyone know how long a response should take?

well... it's kinda the weekend. it seems safe to assume that the earliest you will get a response is on monday. also, did you send the email during business hours or something like at 8pm?

please be patient.

It would have been about midday Central time, I think. I'll see what happens after the weekend.

Adapteva Support typically handles emails on Tuesdays and Thursdays

I got an email from Diana South at Adapteva support yesterday. It was rather disappointing, just asking me to try things that I'd already tried, and she didn't address the intermittent rebooting problem when the board was touched or moved. I got back to her pointing out that I had already tried everything and asking about the RMA process.

Second email from Diana received. She now thinks that I should download the uSD card image again and rewrite the card. I couldn't see how that was relevant but I tried it, and the problems (intermittent HDMI and non-functioning USB) were exactly the same. I've told her that the board is faulty and that they should replace it.

Guess you'll be waiting a while...I don't think they've even fulfilled all the KS supporters yet.

I got an email with an RMA number. They have been trying to reproduce the USB problems I and some other users have been having but without any success. I'll wait a few days to see how they get on, and then return the board. Hopefully, the USB will misbehave when they get it back and they can fix it. The intermittent HDMI problem was caused by a faulty cable, which I've replaced.
