i tried to run a very valid search for "shared memory" and it complained because "memory" was too common for the current settings. i've hit restrictions in the past but this one is quite bothersome. please reduce/remove the search restrictions for the forum.

I've hit this as well. Unfortunately it seems from the documentation / comments that the board software doesn't bother indexing common words, so the only thing it can do is to discard them from the search phrase.

You can put + and - in front of a word to say it must / mustn't be in the search results.

If anyone wants to contribute to the board software I expect there are opportunities available. See .

In the meantime the admins might find this slightly interesting.
