cifs

Postby steve.j.wilcox » Fri Oct 24, 2014 10:40 pm

I am trying to access data held on a samba share using the cifs-utils package. I can see the share using smbclient, however, although I can install the package it appears that the kernel does not support the filesystem, is this correct, and is there any way to access the share?

It looks as though you may need a kernel with CONFIG_CIFS and this is not enabled by . If that is the case, you will need to build your own kernel, or alternatively you may be able to use a userspace implementation such as fusesmb.
