Simple & cheap: 12V Fan for your parallella board!

Postby fsalerno74 » Sat Jul 04, 2015 10:57 am

Yesterday i received the board and the fan seemed to be a frequent topic among users.

Using some spare parts from old pc and notebooks i found this cheap solution:

12v fan

required:
12V Adapter (like from old notebooks or you can buy one)
12v fan (used old cooler master pc fan)
jack plug for the 12v adapter ( or some soldering skills :P)
power and fan.JPG
power & fan

the working result is like that:
12v working.JPG
12v working
12v working.JPG (268.41 KiB) Viewed 11982 times

maybe its not the best solution but works fine.
( for some comparison of temperatures i wrote some on this post viewtopic.php?f=23&t=930&start=20)
the working temperature dropped a lot, so now i feel confortable to start testing the board with some project!

hope someone can find useful my experience.
