actual Epiphany IO speed

Postby Gravis » Fri Jun 14, 2013 2:24 pm

I was curious if the Epiphany chip IOs would be fast enough to read in a HDMI stream. I know the overview PDF reads, "6.4 GB/s Off-Chip Bandwidth" but I just wanted to make sure there weren't any catches to this IO speed or if I was misinterpreting.

I ask because I want to add some on-screen graphics though I'm not 100% sure it's possible due to the speed of HDMI data (maxes out at 4.6075 GB/s).

By having a look on the firs picture of the Parallella ref manual (http://www.adapteva.com/wp-content/uplo ... 3.2.13.pdf)
you can conclude that the BW is limited by the 1.4 GBytes/s link between the ZYNQ and the Epiphany. The 6.4 GBytes/s is the overall IO BW of the Epiphany G4.

There is a newer version of the arch ref, which only seems to be found .
