rebuild the system SW, unable to run ecore program anymore

Postby ed2k » Sat Jun 15, 2013 8:09 pm

I am starting to use my own built kernel and vanila distribution from linaro, but the ecore program loading just frozen.
so switched back the official kernel. got this problem
matmul.elf: ee_write_reg(): Buffer range is out of bounds

linaro@linaro-ubuntu-desktop:~/esdk/examples/matmul-16$ ./e-probe.sh 0
e-probe.elf: ee_read_reg(): Buffer range is out of bounds.
Probing Core ID 0xffffffff
Reading core 0xffffffff system registers from address 000f0000...
CONFIG

seems the memory address is completely wrong. I am trying to find where is "Buffer range is out of bounds" message. But not able to find it anywhere.

Since my flash is dead, I was trying to rebuild the whole system, file system, gcc, e-gcc etc. I remember to try the lclk_div4.elf from official image. not helping as well.

so I am stuck now. should I go back the official image (which contains the older sdk) or I just missed something.

Thanks,

I think you are building a dev version of the HAL. Please note the comment in the README file, on where to find the latest official source release.

I did git reset the epiphany-libs to e-hal.4.13.03.30 for epiphany-sdk I am using the latest.
maybe this combination is not working. will try to use the tag esdk.4.13.02.24

I would like to make the git head version work on my board as well, could we make it possible?
Also, if we intend to keep the release version, new branch for release version is needed, a tag won't be able to update the fixes coming for the release version.

The "Buffer range is out of bounds" message did not exist in esdk.4.13.03.30. I am a very little expert in git, so I cannot help there, but I am certain that you do not use the source tree you think you are using.

Try downloading the tag tree from GitHub using the "Download as ZIP" button, when you are at that tag branch. However, I am not sure what revision it will zip for you, so please make sure you are building the correct one (for one, check for that message in the ee_write_reg() function)
