Another interesting CPU project?

Postby 8l » Sun Nov 10, 2013 4:36 am

Hi,
i want to know more cpu news, could someone point something to me?
to me, current parallella is extended version of .
epiphany is impressive concept, but IMHO, it still tied to arm platform.

recently, i have read
very nice article, there is little barrier between me and cpu on f18 architecture, so on.

all is about development, the result is somewhat not important, ATM.

maybe pci-e slot/(wishbone?) type would be more adequate.
then the module combine with other cpu(power, x86/x86_64, arm64, tilera, even greenarray, etc) platform.

There are PCIe Epiphany cards already, but it seems that you can't evade "Xilinx tax". ;)

And it's such a thrilling discussion...

There's a processor I might give a try on the FPGA of the Parallella board, which is IMO an interesting Open Source CPU project, it's called the ECO32. There's no reason not to prototype CPUs in the FPGA, control/program it via the ARM, and even use the Epiphany as accelerator, but wait, you'd have to be a pretty good (and intelligent) EE...
