What's the programming model of parallella?

I'm new to here. I'm still not sure some problems after I read the manual.
Does any multi-threaded program can take advantages of multi-cores?
Can I use ansi-C compiler without any efforts and take advantages of multi-cores?
How about dynamic-linked-gmp executables?
