Parallella Community

Hi,

I got a parallella board during a prize draw on code mesh conference few days ago. Yay!

Unfortunately I have trouble finding some information related to booting it... So if somebody could point me in right direction it would be great:

1. I'm not exactly sure if I received Gen0 or Gen1 variant - how do I recognize version?
2. Is the sdcard image available on ftp (zedboard_parallella_12121800) compatible with the newer boards - or do I have to rebuild something? I imagine that zedboard is different hardware than the final version...

Any boot troubleshooting tips? I have written zedboard_parallella_12121800 image to 32GB card, powered up device using mount clamps. All three LEDs come up, ethernet interface LEDs also come up after a second or so - but I can't see any other activity, no DHCP requests or any ethernet packets whatsoever... As the device is headless I am pretty much stuck at the moment...

Easiest way to differentiate between gen0 and gen1 is the power connector - gen0 is a small connector and gen1 is the larger 2.1mm connector. I need to check about the image tomorrow and will respond again. sorry.

I just found Gen1 bringup video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVNsDvu4zYo) and looking at the power adapter it would seem I have Gen0.

Anyway I am still wondering if I should use zedboard_parallella_12121800 image to boot it or something modified...

The board booted successfully using the gen0 image, thanks for the help.

BTW - were the files just uploaded? I am pretty sure I browsed whole ftp at least three times
