Pre-order boards by next Christmas now a possibility.

500 boards per day 3500 boards a week. I'm order 2371 so mine should ship within the week!!!

As far as I'm aware : the interest - kicked off by Kickstarter - is now well beyond the original backer subscription. This is a tremendous outcome !

500 boards/day sounds unrealistic, honestly. That'd imply a steady supply of parts for 500 boards per day, which would imply they're right now ordering parts for boards that nobody's bought yet. So either there indeed is a huge order of boards made by someone not KS/individual pre-order(in which case, does this order take priority over individuals?), or they'll end up producing 500 boards/day and then a few weeks later tell us "Sorry, we're out of parts, production halted".

Relevant: Do they actually have the parts for the pre-order boards right now? Probably not. Are they ordering them? Probably not, considering there is no update on pre-order shipping dates at all.

@pgater - and it will look similar to below YouTube Link and maybe the current Contractor will allow filming of the actually build. Would be a nice gesture and something for Adapteva to treasure. I still have our first board that was built by hand in 1989 with a single Inmos Transputer, running @ 5MHz

@CIB - and I confident that KS Backers will get their board first and then pre-orders as they become available.

500 units/day. Possible not for some time, but never say never! The assembly machine can possible handle this, but test/packing will be the bottleneck. Sit back for another few weeks and wait for your board to arrive. It will happen soon, I am sure. The ice is broken and the water is flowing.

It's too bad really we can't rely on any delivery dates, I'd love to convince one of my professors to let me write a bachelor thesis on something related to the parallella, but there's no way I'll even try that if I can't be sure to have my board by next semester(2 months from now).
