I kinda think this should be over in the Troubleshooting forum but whatever.
Helpful hints:
* get it to print when connected to the network via Ethernet before you try the WiFi route. it's just one less thing that could go wrong.
* If you have a Lexmark printer, forget it, they are not supported at all on Linux.
* If you have a Brother printer, you will need to get the CUPS config/driver from their website. Google should lead you there.
* If you have HP, you will need to install a specific package for for those. A simple search with the package installer will show you which package. it's named like hpjsi or something weird.
