Power supply via USB connector?

Postby capiman » Tue Aug 05, 2014 11:31 am

newbie question:
Usually you connect power supply via J12.
Is it also possible to connect power supply via J7 (or J6), because my ordered power supply
has a USB connector.
Or must I use solder iron and change connectors?

Best regards,

You can power the board via the Micro USB connector at the rear (J7) if you move the position of the jumper that is next to the barrel connector. However, this is only recommended for "light workloads" and do not attempt to supply power via the Micro USB connector at the front of the board (J6, next to the Micro HDMI connector).

In general I would recommend supplying power via either the barrel connector or the mounting hole pads.
