Parallella Community

We will be shipping the first 368 Parallella-7020 boards to pre-order customers on Monday. The boards are already at the shipping company ready to go. Your shipping notification should arrive shortly thereafter.(please check your spam filter if you don't get one).

Unfortunately, one of our suppliers has pushed out delivery of one of the single source components on the Parallella board and we are now stuck waiting for those components before we can build and ship the remainder of the pre-order boards. We have been promised an answer from the supplier by today (or worst case Monday). We have received some indication that the missing chips could arrive by 5/15 but no firm commitment yet.

Until we get a firm commitment, we cannot give an accurate delivery date with regards to the rest of the boards.

Thanks for this update. This is Good Visibility of the situation at your desk.
Just the sort of status report we would all have appreciated over the past few months - if you don't mind me emphasising.

Now - please translate: " 368 Parallella-7020 boards" what does that mean in terms of Pre-order numbers?
So we can all work out where we are.
Number of boards does not relate to Order numbers because some of us have been greedy and ordered more than one.

I'm down for a 7010 board - and the feeling I'm getting is that's even further down the track.

Forum responses to your update will probably break down into two groups:
A) those that will rant, and tear their hair out by the roots,
B) those of us that will sigh, and have already lost our hair.

There is probably a 3rd group who have done enough mixed hardware+software development to understand intimately how these delays come about and are still happy/excited to get their hands on these

I ordered some samtec connectors this week while I start my daughter card design and wait for my 7020

After over 35 years in IT, I've rarely, if ever, been on a Project that even came close to delivering On-time AND On-budget AND On-spec. Or was that just me?
I'm still confident that Adapeva will tick at least one of those boxes.

Thank you for the timely update, Andreas. While I'm not "happy" with this one, I can completely understand and accept a month or so delay in this case since you DID give us an update and it's what it was.

Thank you very much, indeed! With this level of honesty from Adapteva, I'm fine waiting a while longer for my board, and if this becomes the new policy, I'll be much less cautious about ordering from you guys again.

So as pre-order #1385, for a 7020, am I lucky?

I'm preorder #3178 for 7020 with GPIO so I was really no chance of being in the first 300 (despite not knowing the ratio of 7010 to 7020 preorders it seems a very long shot to imagine 7020 boards were less than 10% of preorders).

But ... did anyone get a shipping notification?
