Thanks for those informational updates.

Unfortunatelly I guess that I cannot stop the process that started once the boards were declared as non-conforming by German Federal Network Agency although I'm going to try if Adapteva could quickly provide the conformance declarations. Getting a CE sticker might be a challenge as well (if you don't want to buy them in packages of 100).

EDIT: I also contacted the Federal Network Agency on how end-users could import prototype stuff that has no conformance due to being experimental. I hope to get an answer quickly and will keep you updated.

My MAKER board has been held by Japanese customs for 10 days. Finding out why is proving challenging.

Development Boards don't need CE or any other conformacy declaration in Germany... I was lucky that I didn't have to go to the customs office.

@moeter Not sure how it is in Germany, but in BE for eg, it's true that you can get dev stuff imported without CE approval _BUT_ you have to warn the customs _BEFOREHAND_ ... I've had the joy of discovering that first hand and it ended badly (as in : I never got the item)

Interestingly, I received my parallella, but it had a sticker added to it : "Goods Do Not Meet The Requirement Of Article 9 and 10 Of The Contract For The Foundation Of The European Community"

Will the stickers be on the boards currently being produced?

The observations in the posts are correct - based on the product, we have to define which directives we are subject to and then we self declare conformance. Being conservative, we have completed the EMC emissions and susceptibility testing and have passed. In addition we need to be ROHS compliant and we are.
We will create a Certificate of Conformance and post it on our website. going forward, we will add this to the label on the outside of the box (Next batch) and eventually, will add it to the pcb.
As soon as we have the certificate signed off, I will post it here as well.

Just wanted to add another story:
My package was held at german customs office —fortunately only about 1h by train :)— and they did not open the customs declaration which said "May be opened officially".
So they did not see the value listing on the second page of this declaration. They didn't accept it as an invoice and I had to pay ~18€ import tax based on what I pledged on
Kickstarter, which included extra $ for international shipping.

Anyway, I am glad that the board is finally in my hands to play with!

Received my boards today in Belgium.

Unfortunately, ~75€ import tax, and one week to process it...
